I did my best to be very polite and not order any of the things that she explained to me as "just like" this other thing.

In my mind, I can see the enigmatic smirk you most likely gave the waitress as she explained the beers at BBW.

You know, I'm not sure I can remember which brewery my watermelon ale was from. It might have been Thomas Hooker, but I wouldn't swear to it. At any rate, it was a bit too watermelon-y for me, but I also have an ambivalent relationship with the fruit which means that the beer might just have been a poor choice for me. I give extra points to the Sunset, though, for presentation. The watermelon wedge was crisp and attractive (and tasty).

The Sah'tea was easily the most interesting beer I've had ever. I ended up liking it, but liking it the way I like rich desserts, not the way I like a beverage that accompanies other things. Sah'tea demands the entire focus of your palate.. though I imagine it would also go well with vanilla ice cream.

The Arquebus at Cambridge Brewing Company was amazing. My only regret was that I had to present a paper at a conference at 9am the next day, so I couldn't follow it up with a Blunderbuss or a Benevolence. I went to the CBC exactly once my entire two years living in Boston, and the experience was forgettable, but now I think I'm going to demand it as a regular stop whenever we're in town.
